Overview of Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel

Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel is a riverboat casino with a roadhouse theme. The theme makes it unique in the Tunica resorts area and thus attracts a lot of people per year. A few totally unique attractions can be found at Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel, including a mechanical bull and bar games such as beer pong.  It is marketed as A place to Get Wild, so its average age group is a bit younger than some of the other casinos in the area.

The casino is one of three casinos located in casino centre and owned by Caesars Entertainment. The hotel and casino was originally opened in 1994 as a Sheraton brand hotel, but ITT Sheraton was bought out in 1998 by Starwood Hotel and Resorts Worldwide. All the casinos under Starwood were sold to Park Place Entertainment, which eventually became Caesars Entertainment and merged with Harrahs Entertainment in 2004. Harrahs had just acquired the nearby Horseshoe Casino, so now the parent company owned five of Tunica’s nine casinos. To avoid this Harrahs sold two of its casinos to Colony Capital.

The Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel went through a number of ownership changes during this time, but continued to operate at The Sheraton Tunica until 2009 when it changed to Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel. The Sheraton incarnation of the hotel and casino had a black forest theme.

The hotel may have a roadhouse theme, but the rooms and suites are all luxurious and definitely not the rat infested ones that spring to mind when you hear the word roadhouse. Rooms come in a choice of one king bed or two queens, and all have high quality linen and spa tubs. The suites have their own separate parlour accommodation, and all come standard with a wet bar and a billiards table. The huge bathrooms have whirlpool baths and stand up showers. All rooms and suites have flat screen TV’s.

The casino at Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel offers a number of table games and slots. Roulette is particularly popular here with different versions available. The casino has a total of 36 table games which offer some of the lowest limits in Tunica. Craps, Blackjack, Roulette and Three Card Poker can all be played for a variety of wagers. Slots and Video poker machines are of course spread out across the casino floor, from penny slots to high limit machines.

Things to do at Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel

The hotel and casino itself has a hotel pool that is open seasonally until 8pm. Children are welcome, but those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Only hotel guests are allowed to use the pool facilities. Dining at Tunica Roadhouse Casino and Hotel is done at the Roadhouse Diner, but again don’t be fooled by the name. The Diner serves quality seafood and steak and a buffet too. The Riverstage Bar is where the fun is had, with the mechanical bull and the bar games. Live music is often featured either via a DJ or a local artist. Pool tables and HD TV’s are scattered throughout the bar to keep you entertained.
